We are now able to take walk-in repairs again.
Thank you very much for your patience during difficult times, we have now caught up with the waiting list and and are now able to take walk-in repairs. The length of time it takes to complete the repair will vary, we will be able to give you a more accurate time period when you bring the bike in. Many thanks from the team at Northwood Cycles.
Here at Northwood Cycles our staff have over 70 years of experience and will take on almost any job. So if it's a new nut & bolt or a full rebuild and service we can accommodate your needs.
All repairs (excluding frame repairs and resprays) are dealt with in our own workshop and we repair and service any make of cycle subject to parts availability.
All new cycles we sell are fully built and serviced prior to leaving the shop and a second free service is given 4 to 6 weeks after purchase, guaranteeing peace of mind that your new cycle will be safe and properly adjusted, delivering the best performance and riding experiece.
How long does it take?
Our workshop operates on a rotation system, this means that once your bike is booked in with us it will be added into the list of current repairs.
We work through this list sequentially so the time your repair will take is dependant on how many other repairs we have in at the time of booking.
Therefore repairs are likely to be completed quicker during the week than at the weekend, when the shop is at its busiest, and dropping bikes in to us earlier in the day is usually condusive to a shorter completion time.
Repairs can take anything from half a day to ten days to be completed, this is dependant on current work load and availability of required parts. It's always worth contacting us to enquire about turnaround times if you are in need of an express repair, where possible we will endeavour to meet you requirments.
Why not consider dropping your cycle in for its pre season service during the autumn, winter or early spring to beat the longer turnaround durng summer.
Below is a guide of our workshop labour rates, but as each cycle can require different levels of work please contact us for an estimate.
All prices include VAT
All parts and consumables are extra.
Please contact us for a no obligation estimate.
Insurance and accident estimates and repairs welcome.
This is an example of a restoration of a classic Raleigh Chopper that we carried out in our own workshop.
The cycle had sat in a shed for many years and was rusty, the tyres were Rotten and the saddle had a large split.
We found new tyres and had the saddle recovered, we cleaned and waxed the frame keeping the original factory paint and transfers and we polished all the chrome.
The cycle was stripped down to the frame with all bearings replaced and the cycle was fully serviced.
If you have a diamond in the rough and were thinking of having it restored then give us a call on 01923 824174
